Mailchimp Plugin Ajax error.

  1. Using Gravity Forms with Headway and when I enable the mailchimp plugin I get "ajax error while setting post template" when I try and save changes to a form.

The Paypal Beta1 crashed my whole install and I have to delete it.

When I enabled the Campaign Monitor Plugin and then the Mailchimp plugin it crashes the site until I manually delete the plugin.

    All kinds of fun.

  2. Nobody else is reporting this issue so it is either an issue with your specific WordPress site configuration (plugin/theme combination) or a Headway specific issue.

What version of Headway are you running?

  3. I'm running headway version 2.0.3.

The plugins in this install are:

    Akismet 2.4.0
    Analytics360 1.2.3
    Automatic WordPress Backup 2.0.3
    Gravity Forms 1.4.5
    Headway Leaf: Gravity Forms 1.0.1
    Headway Leaf: Navigation Leaf 1.0
    Simple Facebook Share Button 1.0.5

So not to many. The Analytics360 is a dashboard deal, so maybe that is the problem. It's from Mailchimp. I'll try turning that off.

  4. Well, that didn't help. I'll go through and disable everything :(. Accept Headway, Gravity Forms and the Mailchimp plugin and see if it goes away.

  5. I found it. Its the Automatic WordPress Backup plugin.

That is a drag because I like what they are trying to do with their backup solution. Its a lot easier than a cron job and adds redundancy by being somewhere else.

Do you have a backup solution that you recommend for wordpress that is setup for ease of use?

Of course, maybe this is something they did or maybe its something in the mailchimp plugin that could be tweaked. I didn't try to debug it.

  6. If the automatic wordpress backup plugin is interfering with Gravity Forms then it is because it is outputting it's Javascript on every page load instead of only on it's admin pages. This is a common problem with poorly developed plugins.

We recommend using Backup Buddy from the team at iThemes and PluginBuddy. It's a commercial plugin but it's very powerful and it's also what we use ourselves to backup our sites.

  7. Thanks Carl, I almost bought their suite but when I saw that email buddy didn't support html email I got a little flustered and reconsidered. I will look at it again, its not fair to discount their product just because of that.

It looks like they added a bunch of other neat stuff in there so I may just take the plunge.

  8. I have never used their Email Buddy plugin if that is what you are referring to. But I can say that Backup Buddy is a great backup and restore plugin.

  9. Just an final update for anyone reading this. I didn't update my php memory limit. So this whole thread can go in the waste bin. Everything works fine with enough memory.
