New subscribers not being added to mailchimp list

  1. When people submit their email addresses my Mailchimp list is not getting updated. I have recently installed Gravity forms and the add-on so it is not a new issue, it has never worked.

I've trawled through the support forum and have checked that the versions of Wordpress and Gravity Forms are all the latest, tested theme and plugins, and checked my API key.

I'm new to Mailchimp so don't know if any of my settings there may interfere with Gravity forms but my list is a pretty simple email sign-up.

  2. Install and activate the logging plugin found on this page (ignore the message it gives about your license). Then go to the Settings page of Gravity Forms and at the top you will see a Logging link. Click this link and then enable all messages for MailChimp. Save. Next time the form gets filled out a log will get created. Go back to the Logging page and there will be a link to view the log. See if this shows any useful information.

  3. So it finally worked, just after a long delay of a few hours. Is this the standard timeframe for communication with Mailchimp? As a subscriber it would seem a bit weird to get a confirmation email a few hours after subscribing. Up to an hour maybe but 5 hours later, not really. I think you should warn people about this somewhere in your documentation as I think expectations in this day and age are for a more instant transaction.

But other than this no complaints, it is working just as advertised and updated my Mailchimp mailing list. If there are problems in the future then I will use the logging plugin.

Thank you for your quick response.

  4. The delay is definitely on the Mailchimp side. Sometimes I get the confirmation message from them within minutes, but last week it took almost 2 days before I received the confirmation email from Mailchimp. I had already forgotten I subscribed to something!

If you're curious about the reasons for the delay, please contact Mailchimp.

  5. I am having the same issue, but time does not fix the problem. The registrations show up as entries on Wordpress, the confirmation e-mail is being sent immediately from MailChimp, but the names never show up on the MailChim list.

What could be the challenge and how do I fix it. A generic recommendation to contact MailChimp is just passing the buck and this is an integration problem that both sides should know about.

    Thanks!
