Poll cookie does not work

  1. AT http://www.halfwaytoconcord.com I cannot get poll cookie "1 day" to work. current syntax for MEASURE Q poll at top of RH sidebar is

    [gravityform action="polls" id="14" cookie="1 day"]

but all users need do is refresh and it updates (adds what ever previous vote was) which defeats the cookie. please advise.

Also advise how best to configure with w3tc cacheing.

Could I ask you to try deactivating the Page cache option in w3tc, please? Does that make a difference?

  4. I will try that by turning w3tc off. In talking to w3tc, willie jackson says I may need to write some exception for polls. But the issue is can all polls generated by this plugin be firewalled from caching as a class or must each new poll be uncached individually.

  5. I turned off w3tc altogether and cookie now works fine. Any clue as how Poll cookies and page caching and w3tc can live together in peace and harmony? I vote "Please".

  6. On further review, a page refresh automatically adds a unit to the previously voted upon item selection count. If there are two polls and one votes in one and then the other, returning to the first allows one to vote again despite cookie being set to 1 per day.

10-yard Penalty for roughing the web admin as this has caused much grievance at my site where testy partisans are stuffing ballots this election season demeaning value of the poll (and this plugin)

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, in a future release we'll add support for w3tc caching so that polls don't get cached along with the rest of the page.

We were able to reproduce the two issues you mentioned and we're working on a fix for them.

The fix will be available in the next release of the Polls add-on. If you'd like a copy of the new version as soon as it's ready, please send me an email at steve@rocketgenius.com and reference this post.

  8. I wish I had seen this thread before I used the poll. I'm having the EXACT same problem with vote stuffing. PLEASE help me fix this! The cookies DO NOT WORK.
