Hello there. We're looking for a robust form with a couple of key features.
1. A word count/character limit , in a text box.
2. Reports as an excel sheet/ or that will post to a page on our
website to manipulate. eg: our sales folks would input their daily info
on a form, submit, then management can see and manipulate the results.

We do have a character limit option available, and you can export CSV files to do things with. I hope that helps. All my best!
David - is that character limit available on all licenses, and is there a word limit option as well?
Character limit is available with all licenses. There is no word limit option but it has been requested as a feature before. You could customize your installation using the gform_validation hook to check the word count submitted and return an error, or you could add the JavaScript to display and limit the word count, but this is not a feature of Gravity Forms.
