Pre Purchase Question - Confirm Email/Account with User Registraion add on

  1. Hello all,

I need some input on this. I'm ready to get a developers license for Gravity Forms and I had a few questions, especially regarding the User registration form.

I want to know the following:

    1. Can I enable email/account confirmation after user fills out registration GF? Basically, I want to new users to register and before they can log in they will need to confirm their email/account. This is a basic wordpress feature that comes with the core. Once a user registers filling out the gravity form, their role would be pending, until they check their email and confirm their account, then it would change to the default wordpress new user role i have set. Is this possible with GF?

    2. Can I add those same registration fields to the user profiles so users can update/edit their information?

    3. Using the PayPal pro add-on, will the form submit if the payment isn't accepted? Also, what is required for the PayPal pro add-on, other than a PayPal pro account?

  2. 1. Please see here for the latest information about the User Registration add-on 1.5 beta 1:
    http://www.gravityhelp.com/gravity-forms-user-registration-add-on-v1-5-beta-1-released/

    What's New
    Added support for user activation.

    2. Yes, you can extend the user profile with additional fields.

    3. The form will submit but if the payment is not complete, it will never do whatever it is AFTER form submission which required payment in the first place (register a user, create a post, etc.)

3a. An SSL cert is required to use the PayPal Pro add-on, since you are collecting credit card information on your site. Full requirements can be found here: http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/PayPal_Payments_Pro_Add-On

Let us know if you have any more questions.

  3. Fisrt let me say the user registration add on is a blessing! Even more now that there's un update form avaliable too; it works like a charm.

So not much of a pre-sale question, since I already have a license, but I would like to know if it's possible to let an admin activate the user, instead of letting the user confirm the activation upon registration.

    Thanks!

  4. Have you tried the beta release of the user registration add-on (1.5b1)?

I'm not sure if that is exactly what you are looking for. If not, the "New User Approve" plugin will allow an administrator to approve a user before they can log in:

  5. Yep, I use the new beta vesion; it supports user activation by the new user, but I want to be able to let the admin approve first. I'm installing the plugin you mention as we speak; I think this combination will do what I need.

    Thanks for the quick response!

  7. I've been testing things, but the 'new user approve' plugin does some things (like custom notifications) only when a user registers through the standard reg. form.

I think it would be a very helpful feature for the GF user registration to have an option that will let admins approve activation of a new registered user, and send notifications accondingly.

  8. I agree with TiborP.

If the GF User Registration plugin could allow admins to approve activation of a registered user and send notifications to both admin and user, then that would be a great feature.
