Pricing & Purchasing

  1. Four quick questions.

1.) I am buying the single site license today. But I'm wondering if I end up REALLY liking it, can I upgrade later by simply paying the difference to receive a developers license? Or would I need to spend another $199 for the full price of the developers license? Just curious.

2.) Can I create a form that gives users the ability to upload a photo, but have the form automatically attribute the image to a custom field (i.e. "Thumbnail") so that it goes in a specific place on the post?

3.) Can I create a form that will give the author the ability to come back to that post and edit it later (without having control over the comments placed on the post)?

4.) When using this form as a USER REGISTRATION form, can I give users the ability to choose their own passwords upon registration? Or does it need to wait for wordpress to assign the user a password?

This seems to almost be too good to be true......

  2. 1) Yes, you can upgrade by paying the difference. Just contact us for an upgrade coupon code at anytime. The final 1.5 release will also allow you to upgrade right from the Gravity Forms admin.

    2) Yes, a form can enable a user to upload a photo. As far as inserting it into a post, there is a feature called the Content Template feature on the Post Body field that lets you customize and control the Post Body content and insert an image (or any form field value) into it along with HTML, etc.

    3) Gravity Forms does not have editing capabilities on the front end. If you want an author to have the ability to edit posts they would need access to your WordPress dashboard to access their posts. I believe the Author role limits their access to only their posts and depending on how you configure WordPress the changes they make would then have to be approved by an Editor and published.

    4) Yes, with the User Registration Add-On you can either have the user enter a password or you can randomly generate it.

  3. 1) Yes. They'll give you an option to upgrade. They did for me when I did exactly the same thing.

    2) Yep. I do this with a printing proof upload system I created with Gravity Forms — Makes my proofing process SO MUCH easier. I use drop downs for the specs, conditional logic for the specific images, and it will upload directly to the system. It creates a post for the proof itself and automates an email to me, the sales rep, and the customer — each with related information. Seriously, this plug-in is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I now use it on all of my clients' sites. WELL worth the developer license.*

*No, I'm not paid by the GravityForms people for an endorsement, but I'd gladly provide one if they asked!

    3) I'll leave the Gravity folks to answer this one. Dunno.

    4) See #3 answer. ;)

  4. Thank you both for your thorough and swift responses. I'm sold. Now I just have to make the purchase later on this evening so I can start Gravity Forming the heck out of my sites. I think after I do this, I'll do the affiliate thing as well....as long as this seems to be as phenomenal of a plugin as it appears to be.
