Yes, we agree. We plan on adding coupon code capabilities to the PayPal Add-On in the next version release of the plugin. We were trying to get the core functionality completed for the v1 release.

We don't currently have a planned date for v2 of the PayPal Add-On. We are working on some other exciting product updates that we can't wait to release, so it won't be until later this year that we can come back around and enhance the PayPal Add-On.

Is there going to be a promo code discount option for the regular form ordering? it does not have to be paypal specific, but since the ordering option have been added to the basic form setup, is there a plan to include a promo code option that will dicount the total sale by percentage or fixed dollar amount depending on the code used?

Currently the plan was to add it to the Payment Gateway Add-Ons specifically because of the User Interface issues. However, we can look into making Coupons it's own Add-On so it could be used with or without a payment gateway.

Making it available without the payment processing also would be wonderful.
Some of us just need to collect the order information and bill at a later time, so the coupon code would reflect the updated pricing upon order creation for both customer and business.

Promo/coupon codes is a feature we plan on adding in the future. However we have to see the best way to handle it.
Gravity Forms isn't a shopping cart/ecommerce plugin so we can't just throw in new features like this without keeping in mind that the focus of the core plugin is forms... any kind of forms and not just order forms.
Originally we were planning on making coupon/promo code functionality part of the PayPal Add-On. But because additional payment gateway Add-Ons are both nearing release, in development or planned for the future this won't be ideal because then each Add-On would have it's own coupon/promo code functionality.
What we will most likely do is introduce coupon/promo code functionality as part of it's own add-on. This way it can work across all of the payment gateway add-ons for Gravity Forms.
We do plan on introducing this in the new year.

Yes, please coupon codes and please as its own add-on. This will be good for orders that get submitted but we don't allow online payment for something specific or if they choose offline payment option.
I want option for random codes to be used 1-time. Or at least a way to make each code only used 1 time per user or email address.
Also, expiration date and it'd be nice if CODE2 could start X-days after CODE1 expires.
But most basic of functionality would be super-appreciated today! Thanks!

+1 for the promo code feature.
As an events business, no ecommerce cart comes close to being right for us but GF is about perfect.
I could see GF kicking off as an ecommerce solution with that feature and a few more payment gateways.For my 2 pennies a promo feature should work across the board and have these options:
Max total number of code entries.
Max allowable code submissions per order.
Allow/prevent multiple codes per order.
Allow same user use code more than once.
Validity date range.
Apply to all products, apply to specific products, exclude specific products.Thanks for a great plug in - GF has made my life a lot easier!

Is there ability to add a Discount Code yet??? I just completed a costly bumped up from a free plugin to Gravity because I thought it would have more features, but I am looking at having to go back to limited Event Registration plugin just for the ease of adding promo codes.
