    So this might be a stupid question, but there are a lot of sites that have a promotion code that says it will save you $50 on the developer license. I pasted it into the cart and it does apply. I hate to call myself or anybody else out on this, but it can't be a mystery. Is this legit?

    I have no problem paying the full price, but would obviously like to save $50 if I can seeing as I'm footing this bill myself.

    Please enlighten me. I would hate to try this and find out I have a bad license now because of it.

    If the code is legitimate, it will work. There are no bad license keys. If your purchase goes through you'll get a license key, and we'll be happy to welcome you as a license holder.
