Questions before I purchase

First off... this plugin looks awesome!

Before I purchase I want to make sure that it will do everything I'd like, so sorry for the long post. Here goes...

I would like to setup a form that anyone can use to create a post from the frontend for a *custom post type* (which is already setup) called 'guide', once the user has filled the form the post will then go into review in the admin area.

Via the form I'd like the user to be able to add the following:

    Title
    Category
    Tags
    Post Image
    Additional images

I'd also like them to have the ability to add the following (which are setup as custom meta data on the site)

    Location (address)
    Website
    Phone #

Is all of this possible by using Gravity Forms?

Finally, I notice that there are a couple of different pricing points for the plugin. The website I'm building is going to be a not-for-profit local guide, bearing in mind all the things I'd like to do which version of the plugin would I require? (I should probably point out that I couldn't find any information about what the 'advanced' and 'basic' form add-ons are?)

  2. This is possible with Gravity Forms, however out of the box Gravity Forms does not have built in options for Custom Post Types. BUT it's doable either via hooks/filters to customize the functionality or to make things easier there is a free add-on available in the WordPress.org repository that adds Custom Post Type capabilities to Gravity Forms. So you have options, but what you wan't can be done.

    Basic Add-Ons are Currently:
    MailChimp
    Campaign Monitor
Future email marketing add-ons (Constant Contact, AWeber)

    Advanced Add-Ons are Currently:
    PayPal
    User Registration
    FreshBooks

The Custom Post Type Add-On is a free Add-On that was created by a Gravity Forms user and is available to anyone here:

would I be safe using the personal version for a not-for-profit website?

Great post and great workaround for the custom post types, thats what I was waiting for from GravityForms when I sent a pre-sale email a week ago, glad to see my answer on here!

I would just add ne step further in my initial inquiry: Is this data actually pushed to the Database and Stored? meaning, for future backup purposes or Newsletter and Mailing lists integration, does GravityForms actually store the data captured from the user's input INTO the WP-Gravity Forms database?

  6. Gravity Forms stores all the entry data in it's own tables in your WordPress database. So yes, the form entry data is stored and can be exported to a CSV file for use elsewhere.

Thank you for the prompt reply Carl, I'll be purchasing the Developer license for that matter, great plugin and good to see a prompt support on here.
