Restrict File Upload Size

  1. Hi,
Thanks for the great plugin! Is there a way to restrict or validate the file upload size when using File Upload fields? I would like to prevent files larger than a couple megs from being uploaded to my web server. Here's the form (file upload fields are way at the bottom:

    Thanks again!

  2. There is no way to restrict or validate upload size. Gravity Forms uses the built in PHP uploader and it does not have the capability to check file size, etc. We would have to use a Flash based uploader in order to implement something like this, which we do plan on doing in a future release.

  3. Thanks for the quick reply Carl. I'll keep an eye out for when the flash uploader comes in. Other than this small issue, the plugin is really nice.

Is there a file size limit! I tried to submit a form with 3 large files attaches and it processes for a while and then goes back to a blank form. From submission works fine without large file uploads. We need large photo image upload - any suggestions?

  5. There isn't any file size limit built into the plugin. That's all a function of your web host and whatever limits they impose.

This has been discussed here several times, you can refer back to this recent post for some more info.

Any developments on this? Is there maybe a flash uploader yet or a way to limit file sizes?

I'd really love a way to choose a limit for file size, so I don't overload Highrise.

These types of things belong in Feature Requests, and not pre-purchase, once they've been answered. Please post there if you'd like to garner support and attention for new features in Gravity Forms. All my best!
