Searching

  1. Is there a way I can create a search of form results on the main website?

I am using Gravity forms to allow users to add posts, but it would be good if searches could be made of these results in some way, instead of using the usual search widget.

Also if possible, the perfect solution would be to have the ability to search using various boxes so that, for example, if I had a form that included the following:

    Country (Custom Field)
    State (Custom Field)
    Town (Custom Field)

I could then make searches using the same, so I would have a search box where people could make searches by selecting from a drop-down. It would look something like:

    http://propertyabroad.com

    Thanks

  2. I am looking for the exact same thing. The way you can add columns to the admin section when reviewing forms would be a great way to add search parameters on that same page.

  3. This isn't really something Gravity Forms is designed to do. There are probably other plugins out there that let you search post data and this is what you would want to do. You would want to search the post data, not the form entries, as posts are created so there are ways to create drop down searches as you suggested above by custom creating a loop query. There may be plugins that do exactly what you described in the plugin repository at WordPress.org.

  4. Carl,

Could we pay extra and have this feature? It seems like it is important. We will have hundreds of forms submitted. This makes it much easier to sort through them from the Admin section. It would be great if it was worked similar to the way you can add columns to the admin section.

    Regards,

    Rich

  5. If you are referring to an advanced search for form entries (which is different than what this post is about which is WordPress posts) this is something we do plan on adding in a future release or possibly as an add-on depending on the complexity.
