single opt in without asking user to check a box

  1. In an earlier post support wrote "You add a checkbox to your form, ask if they would like to join your mailing list, and then setup the opt-in condition on the MailChimp feed using the MailChimp Add-On to use that checkbox field." Is there a way to make it single opt in without asking the user to check a box? And if so, how do I find the instructions/documentation to do this?

    Thanks.

  2. What do you mean by single opt-in? Can't you just uncheck the double opt-in box in the MailChimp Feed? Or are you saying on the front-end you don't want someone to have the ability to check a box to sign up, you just want them automatically added?

  3. Rob,
First of all I'll try the mailchimp checkbox (using your Aweber plugin but can't do single opt-in via API). And YES, I don't want someone to check a box on the front end. I just want to add them automatically to my list.

  4. As long as you have an email address on your form and in your MailChimp feed you have deselected the Opt-In Condition and removed the "Double Opt-In" checkbox, all submissions should automatically go to MailChimp to the attached form you've chosen.

For some reason that is not working now. Did you guys just do an update? It was working
earlier today then I changed forms in GFs and now it's not working. Mail Chimp is now sending me the opt-in form. I do have the opt-in condition and the double opt in boxes UNchecked.

  7. Update: I have two forms. It works on the short 1 page form but it doesn't on the multiple page form.

  8. Note, I have mailchimp and aweber on the same form to find out what works best. Should I disable one before testing the other? Could that be causing any conflict?

  9. I deleted both connections from aweber to GF and MC to GF and now tested MC. Now the double optin is working right (unchecked and not sending any confirmation) but the now the thank you message is not being sent. Hmmmmm......

  10. By Thank You message do you mean an admin or user notification?
