Survey vs Polls and Charting / graphing?

  1. This morning I have just loaded up new GF Survey add-on, and Polls. It isn't immediately clear to me what the difference between them is, but no worries I guess I'll work it out eventually. But... they both require specific survey or poll specific questions to be inserted into a form before displaying the results. Is there any way that GF can graphically display results from existing form fields (i.e. not special Poll or Survey ones)?

I have built a lean event booking system around GF and want to display some basic charts showing applicant numbers, demographics (age / gender / event balance etc). I suspect I'll need to get my hands dirty with php and java/jquery!

Love the plugin already, just looking for even more icing in the cake!!

No, not currently. You are going to have to get your hands dirty. Good luck with your project. Please post your progress so we can take a look.

  3. Thanks Chris. FYI Daniel Grundel and Mahmoud Kassassir at Web Presence Partners have made available on Github a great charting plug-in for GF. They have used Raphael to render charts. Worked for me straight out of the tin, and I won't need to edit too much code to satisfy my needs.
