Team creation

  1. Hi, my organization is looking into switching to Gravity to handle our forms. The current platform we use allows people to register for an event, such as a walk fundraiser, and they can start a new team if they wish. This creates a team page with a picture, description, and how much money that team has raised. Then other members can automatically see what teams are available to join, or create a new one if they like.

This is what it currently looks like: https://www.elleevance.com/PAWSWalk2011/EventLandingPage.aspx

Would we be able to do something like that with Gravity?

  2. You should be able to do this with Gravity Forms but it is all in how you implement Gravity Forms. Out of the box it's not going to do this for you. It's a general form builder tool so it can create all types of forms.

It's how you implement it and which tools you use. You can use Gravity Forms to create Posts which would represent each team. Then you could have another form that appears on those Posts for people to sign up for that team, or create their own team.

You could also use the custom post types add-on or some custom code to tell Gravity Forms to create a Page instead of a Post.

Virtually anything is possible with Gravity Forms. It's all about how you use the tool, and leverage things such as the available hooks and filters to customize it's functionality.

  3. Thanks!
If we bought the developer package with support, would you be able to help us brainstorm ways to do exactly what we're looking for?

  4. Brainstorming is what we're all about! We can't code the solution for you, but we can point you in the right direction when you get stuck.
