trial version

  1. Kind of frustrating that some of the threads that discuss a free trial are offered as snippets but then blocked and require a license when I want to read them.

I want to use GF for a project but I don't justify paying for a plugin that I can't test even for a few days. I am sure this is a not the first time anyone has said that. And I certainly respect the decision not to offer a free trial.

But why block even the discussion of that topic?

  2. Forum access is one of the ways we offer and provide our support, and therefore is only accessible to members. Our documentation and the pre-purchase area is open to anyone and you are free to ask away at what you need to accomplish. Care to share?

  3. The question is, why block access to responses to a question about a free trial? And, after posting that question, I discovered that you even block access to a question I asked in the foruM, at some time in the past.

    That seems kind oF strange.

Also, I am still hoping to hear the response to that free trial question. I am very interested in GF for a project but it does not make sense for me to invest in a product without knowing if it will work for what my client needs. Blocking access to the support fourm is, my my perspective, shutting off the only other resource that would tell me things I need to know, such as what are the usual issues and how well do you respond to them.

It is your product, and no one disputes your right to market it as you wish. But the other side of that coin is, I can buy whatever I have confidence in and blocking access to that information denis me that confidence.

So, with sincere respect, if you want to sell this to me, please make it easier.

  4. We don't offer free trials, however you can demo it out at: http://www.gravityforms.com/demo/

We provide outstanding support, and it's something that we are known for. We have extreme confidence in our product and update it regularly as it's running on over 300,000 WordPress websites.

What I was asking you above is - can you share what you are trying to do. I can let you know if Gravity Forms will suit your needs or not, but so far in this thread, you have yet to provide me with any helpful info as to how I can win your confidence. What topics were you trying to access and what are you looking to achieve with Gravity Forms?

  6. My client would welcome a phone call. He is ready to buy if you can help him understand how (if) GF will do what he needs.

He is using s2Members to register and collect data from members and then wants to import that data (perhaps via a spreadsheet) and reexport it into GF so he can publish an online directory.

He is Deven Kane. His phone # is 630-306-4048. He is in Chicago.

  7. There is no free trial download or demo download of Gravity Forms. This is because Gravity Forms is not encrypted in anyway and if we offered a free trial download you'd have the source code for free... and in effect would already have "the goods" without paying for it.

Support is only available to customers with an active license key and the support forums themselves are only accessible by those customers.

Non-support forums are publicly accessible and anyone can post in them, read replies, etc.

If you are unable to access a particular post then this means it was posted to a forum in which you do not have access to read the posts because you do not have a valid license key.

We simply do not have the staff resources to justify personally calling every user that has a pre-purchase question nor is it a cost effective way for us to do business given the price point of our product.

We are a virtual company with employees located in different areas, working remotely, etc. While we do have an office where the majority of our staff works, we don't provide phone support nor do we answer questions over the phone. Our staff is focused entirely on development and support.

Support is done entirely online via the support forum and via our priority support ticketing system.

To answer your question regarding s2Members, Gravity Forms does not allow you to import entry data. Entry data is only created by submitting a Gravity Form and cannot be imported. Entry Data, however, can be exported to a CSV file.

Gravity Forms also does not have online directory functionality built in. In order to display Gravity Forms entry data as some sort of online directory you would have to use the 3rd party Gravity Forms Directory Add-On which is available here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-addons/

Usually people use Gravity Forms with the available User Registration Add-On to replace the s2Members registration form and not the other way around.

If you have any other specific questions, feel free to ask them in this Pre-Purchase Questions forum. That is what it is here for. We'll be glad to answer your pre-purchase questions right here.
