Unique Form Number

    Hi,

We are accepting forms for a event and we would like a field with form number which would automatically be filled in increments every time a form is submitted.

For e.g. the first time a form is filled the "Form No." should automatically be 1
and when the form is filled the second time the field "Form No." should be 2

    Incase this is not possible.
Is it possible that we see the ID of the entry in the backend similar to form ids?
We would also like to include that ID in the notifications that are sent out to the admin & the customer.

Looking forward to purchasing your great extension.

    Regards,
    Arihant

  2. Please see the "Similar Topics" links in the sidebar to the right. There have been quite a few posts which address adding a unique identifier to your form entries.

  3. Also, the entry ID is unique across all form entries on your site and will never be duplicated, in case you want to use something that is built in already.

    Hi,

I am not able to view those topics as I have not yet purchased the plugin.
I was interested in knowing if that is possible, so that I can go ahead and purchase it.

I hope I can access the entry ID in notifications and admin area of backend.
Is it possible to have a field that displays the entry ID on every form?

    Regards

  5. The entry ID is visible in the back end admin for the form entries, yes.

You cannot display the entry ID on the form because until the form is submitted, there is no entry ID. You may have to generate your own unique ID and include that in the form before it is shown to the visitor. There is a filter called gform_pre_render which allows you to change the information displayed by the form just before it's shown.
