User Registration 1.5beta1 - one feed for registering and editing profile

  1. Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to use the same User Registration feed form for both registering and editing details of already registered users.

    I've got:
    1. A Register form.
    2. A User Registration feed with the action "Create User" that uses the Register form.
    3. A Custom Registration Page is Enabled & that page has got Gravity Form shortcode to Registe form.

Now, after a registration a user is redirected to an account page. Is there a way to use the same user registration feed, but make it pre-populated with user data and make it of action "Update User". Can this be done via hooks?

If not what's the best way to do it?

    Many thanks, Dasha

  2. No, you need to use a different form and a different feed for your registration form and your 'update profile' form. The update form will be pre-filled with the information from the current user.

    Chris,
I did exactly what you suggested.

I have a user registration form that requires:
    username
    email
    password

I then send user to their profile page so they can update their information. On the page I have a GF that is mapped to an 'Update User' GF. That lists this info:

    username
    email
    password
    first name
    last name
    phone
    city
    birthdate

As a test I signed up, logged in, and edited my info - I added my full name, phone #, city, and bday.

    Then I logged out.

When I logged back in, the birthdate and username fields are blank.

As this is just a test, I only added a few fields but I do plan to add about 5 more fields.

My question is, how do I get my ALL of my GF 'User Update' fields to display the data?

Does my solution lie in this thread? http://justintadlock.com/archives/2009/09/10/adding-and-using-custom-user-profile-fields

Must I user Tadlock's solution to save all the user info into my database?

    Thanks! Ben

  4. Which version of the User Registration add-on are you using?

Also, please export these two forms and email the XML file to me at chris@rocketgenius.com and I will take a look at the configuration. Thank you.
