User registration + buddypress: activation link per email?

    Hi there,
sorry could not access the posts that came up as a result.
    It follows this:
"When we installed and implemented the User Registration Add-on we didn't realise that would mean sacrificing the email activation. This functionality is very important to us and we would love to he ..."

Does the email activation (like used by buddypress) work with the user registration add-on?

  2. No. The User Registration Add-On does not currently support the email activation, which is a function of the BuddyPress registration process itself. When you use Gravity Forms to register a user it doesn't use the built in WordPress functionality for everything so it is not exactly the same.

Email activation is a feature we plan on adding in a future release.

The User Registration Add-On is still new and young in it's development life cycle. We have a lot of plans for features and enhancements that we plan on making to it. Email activation is one of them, as are many other cool features we plan on incorporating that the existing WordPress and BuddyPress registration does not support.

  3. Wish I would have known. That is a primary reason I spent the money for the develpoer edition. Yet the product advertised that it works with the buddypress registraion. I am very disappointed.

  5. Incorrect, we do not advertise that it "works WITH the buddypress registration". Gravity Forms REPLACES the BuddyPress registration process. It completely replaces the built in BuddyPress registration functionality. They aren't both used.

We advertise that the Gravity Forms User Registration Add-On works with BuddyPress and the BuddyPress user meta fields so that you can create a registration form that creates a user and populates necessary BuddyPress user fields. This is completely accurate.

Email validation is on our to do list and will be coming to the User Registration Add-On once we are ready to release it. Not only that, but it will add email validation capabilities to standard WordPress sites. So it's not going to be limited to BuddyPress or WordPress Multi-Site installations. It's going to allow any WordPress site to implement this functionality.

    HI Carl,
good to hear all the added functionality! Any rough timeline on this? 3 months, 6 months, a year?

  7. These enhancements are planned for release within the next 2 months. The Christmas and New Years holidays limit our development schedule at this time of year.
