User Registration Meta

  1. Hi Guys,

Couple of quick questions re the User Registration Add on.

    1. How do I get the Custom User Meta to appear within the admin area of Wordpress?

    2. I am also using Justin's Members plugin - which Gravity Forms already plays nicely with, however I have setup new custom Roles using Members which I would like the form to interact with. For example, based on the users responses to the form, when the form is successfully submitted they become either Role A, Role B, Role C etc.

Or put another way, if the user selects 'Regional' in a Gravity Forms dropdown, when they submit the form the user would become the custom role: Regional Member.

    Cheers
    Paul

  2. 1) The User Registration Add-On does not currently add the profile fields to the Profile, it only makes it possible to populate the data in the database. It is something we are thinking about adding to a future update to the Add-On. Right now you would have to use another plugin that lets you manage custom user profile fields (check the wordpress.org plugin repository) or write custom code to add them. Here is a tutorial on how to add them:

    2) Currently the User Registration Add-On only supports a set user role determined when you setup the User Registration configuration. It doesn't support conditional role settings. However, this IS a feature we definitely plan on adding in an update.

The User Registration Add-On is just approaching v1.0 and is still very young in terms of development. We have a lot of enhancements we plan on making to it to further enhance it's functionality.

  3. Hi Carl, We've developed a plugin that enables this functionality (to some extent), can you put me in touch with the lead on the User Registration Add-On as this might help your team roll out this functionality sooner.

    Thanks

  4. @Justin You can reach him directly at david@rocketgenius.com and CC me on it at carl@rocketgenius.com and explain what you guys are doing and how you think it could be rolled into the User Registration Add-On and include your plugin and we'd be glad to take a look at it and see if it is something that would make sense to incorporate into the add-on. Thanks!
