Users not being created

    Hi

I've installed the user regstration add on, activated the plugin, created a new form and mapped the standard fields to the form fields. I've ticked the box to send the password to the new user by email. The form also has it's own email notification that goes to the registrant upon form completion. The notification is working, however the user isn't being registered, and so no password notification is being generated. Any clues?

    Thanks.

  2. There are no known issues with the user registration add-on not registering users. I would first double check that all your settings are correct and that you have a Username field on your form (A Single Input Field with it's Field Label set to say Username) and everything is mapped properly.

If that doesn't work, you may need to test for plugin or theme conflicts by following the directions here: http://rkt.gs/testing

    Hi Carl/admins,

I'm experiencing the same issue reported above on a different theme when it comes to the user registration add-on.

On this new theme, running on WP 3.1.3, I created the same registration form used on a previous theme, used the simple field, named it Username, mapped it under the Registration form, only this one is not pushing the User registration into the WP users section, they show up under Entries of GF.

I followed the test steps to isolate the issue: Activated Twenty theme, at first, tried deactivating the Member plugin and reactivating it thinking it can be the cause of the issue, then deactivated all non-GF related plugins and tried again, even deactivated GF plugin and reactivated it thinking it might reset some misconfigured settings, yet users are still showing under Entries, to no avail.

Went back on the other site where everything is working fine and did another live test, the user registration is pushing the entry under WP's users which is working properly, so its not a GF version conflict.

When viewing the Entries in the backend, the User column field is empty, no names showing up.
One other thing I noticed between one install and the other, the one that is working correctly, I can see an additional field labeled: Set As Post Author (?) under the User Registration Settings.

If you need admin level access to the wp panel, let me know, I'll pm you the website link along with the admin credentials.

  4. @FanaticWeb Your description is a bit confusing as you mention multiple sites. When performing the conflict resolution test were you able to create the user at any point during the test? Or did it not work even with Twenty Ten and no other plugins activated?

Hey Carl, what I meant is that I had GF previously installed on a different site using a different theme and it still works fine, so I was assuming that this didnt have anything to do with the GF version difference.

During the conflict test, the issue persisted, as in the User registration was showing up under the Entries section and not the default WP user list as opposed to the usual results I obtained when using other sites, so no, despite switching to Twenty Ten and disabling all plugins on board, the issue persisted.

  6. Is there any other differences between the sites? Is one running under Multi-Site and the other not? Are they both hosted on the same web host? Same server? Any additional details you can provide would be most helpful.

I dont use Multi-site anywhere, both sites use different CMS themes, now I'm trying a third site where GF is still at v1.5.2.3, gonna upgrade it to the latest version v1.5.2.8 (which is the version i'm using on the site thats not pushing the User registration properly) and see what happens.

I just upgraded GF to the latest version v1.5.2.8 on a site which was working fine and it still worked fine, I'm able to register users and these users are showing up under the WP Users panel and not the Entries panel of GF.

Could it be Theme related?? is there any way you can take a quick look at it??

WOW ! I hate this so bad right now!

    Here's what I did:
I went to one of the sites where the registration was working properly
    Exported the Registration form
Imported it into the site that I was having issues with
Created a second registration page and inserted the importer form

Did a test, and here's the PUZZLING part, I used one of the emails that was saved under Entries from a previous test, when I hit submit, it told me that the email is already in use, which I thought was impossible given the previous registration was not successful since they were not being pushed under the WP users panel.

To my surprise, THAT email was now showing under the USERS panel which was totally not there before, it was under the Entries panel and I had deleted it multiple times during multiple tests.

So now, I got the Registration working using either one of the forms, I dont like the "flukeness" and odd behavior of what happened so far, I got a feeling its the imported Registration form that triggered something and fixed the other form somehow, let's call it a case closed for now, unless you guys wanted to further investigate it?

One quick question, which I think is causing the issue on my end, can we assign multiple forms under the Registration add-on section (when it comes to selecting the registration form)? Example: one registration form for regular subscribers (subscriber role) and a separate form for Active members (contributor role).
I had it setup that way and I think thats what was causing the issue where the subscriptions were not being pushed under the Users section of WP
