Active columns

  1. We have a customer who is adamant about having a status column in the Entries view. Status' would be New, In Progress and Completed. We suggested using the read/unread and the starred values to track this but they wouldn't go for it. Then we thought they could just enter the status using the Note at the bottom of the entry. Only way that might work would be if we could get the Note displayed as an entry column. Well, that doesn't seem to be a choice when you click the edit button to select active/inactive columns.

Is there a way to add a field (or the Note field) to the list of inactive or active columns? Does anyone have any ideas on how we could achieve the status feature?

    Thanks, Terry G

You can edit the visible fields in the Entries screen by clicking Edit. You can then chose which columns and in what order they appear in.

  3. Nevermind, my bad. We have several forms and i was looking at the wrong set of entries.

Just found that I can edit the results. Can I create a hidden field with the status choices in a dropdown so they only show in the Entries admin screen then edit that field as needed?

  4. In testing, the answer is "YES you can!" Then I moved that field to first column (after Name) so it's readily availabe to the admin. Problem solved.

I'd like to thank David and myself for coming up with this great, simple solution :) Sometimes you just have to talk it out ...
