Ajax Conflict with 1.6.1 and numerous plugins

  1. Hi there,

Updated to 1.6.1 on my buddypress site and my forms are giving me ajax errors anytime I try to add a field. Deactivated plugins and have found that the error happens whenever recent posts plus, members, oEmbed for buddypress, buddypress group email subscription, and a number of others are active.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? Obviously, a good number of those plugins are essential for the site.

  2. What is the AJAX error? The typical cause of AJAX errors when adding a field is a PHP memory issue preventing the action from being completed.

This would explain why it works when you deactivate plugins, because that frees up PHP memory. So it doesn't sound like a conflict, it sounds like a lack of PHP memory.

I would suggest increasing your available PHP memory by following these instructions:

  3. And that fixed it! Thanks very much Carl.

For those who are ever wondering: Try to move all your clients away from Verio.com. Wow, how awful it was getting that fixed.
