Alphabetize category drop-down?

In one of my forms I have three drop-downs fields of selected categories, each with about 15 categories to pick from. I would like to both alphabetize the display of selected categories and select a default value for each. How can I do this?

I have the same problem. I have a list of countries as categories and they are not in alphabetical order using the category field.

This is very important for the purpose of my website so I hope we could receive a solution soon.

I don't know exactly what parameter is using to order, but I've just reallized there is a secuence like this (I'm just posting here the first letters):
K
A
K
A
A
K
A
A
A
L
A
A
A
A
L

and so on...

So the order is first a category begining with K then one with A then one with K then two with A then one with K then three with A then one with L (because there are no more categories with K) and so on.

Yes, the order of the categories in the select box on preview is the same as the public page.

The order of the categories on the wp-admin is alphabetical.

I'm using the 1.5.3 version.
