Alphabetize category drop-down?

In one of my forms I have three drop-downs fields of selected categories, each with about 15 categories to pick from. I would like to both alphabetize the display of selected categories and select a default value for each. How can I do this?
    Thanks,
    Jen

  2. The categories should already be in alphabetical order. Can you share a link to the form where this is happening?

Here's a link with token that should get you behind my coming soon page:
    http://coffeedirectory.com/submit-grower-profile/?skip-maintenance-token=993BCA

It's the second step of the form after you pick a region.
(for the first step just use any name or number)

  4. Thanks Jen. Here's what I see:

With the drop down, those are post categories in your site? Can you see if they are being returned by some other sort order, maybe by ID or by date created, or most posts, or something? Also, they are hierarchical? With the parents being one of the check boxes from up above?

I saw the same thing happen with the Asia category as well.

  5. I have the same problem. I have a list of countries as categories and they are not in alphabetical order using the category field.

This is very important for the purpose of my website so I hope we could receive a solution soon.

  6. Can you tell me what order they are being returned in? Is it numerical, by date, random, or some other order. It will help find where the problem lies. Thank you.

  7. I don't know exactly what parameter is using to order, but I've just reallized there is a secuence like this (I'm just posting here the first letters):
    K
    A
    K
    A
    A
    K
    A
    A
    A
    L
    A
    A
    A
    A
    L

    and so on...

So the order is first a category begining with K then one with A then one with K then two with A then one with K then three with A then one with L (because there are no more categories with K) and so on.

    Any idea?

  8. Can you post a link to the page with the form embedded in it? Thanks.

  10. I can't reproduce this behaviour. If you preview the form, is the order of the categories in the select box the same as it is on the public page?

Also, does this order match the order that the categories appear in in the wp-admin?

What version of Gravity Forms are you using? And are you using any other Gravity Forms-related add-ons (3rd party or otherwise)?

  11. Yes, the order of the categories in the select box on preview is the same as the public page.

The order of the categories on the wp-admin is alphabetical.

    I'm using the 1.5.3 version.

I'm using Gravity Forms Directory & Addons and Gravity Forms User Registration Add-On

  12. @buscahas,
The drop down is sorted alphabetically when I go to your site. Here is a screenshot of what I am seeing. http://grab.by/b9Ky
    Do you see something different?

  13. @buscahas & @mochajen, we were not able to replicate this problem but we were able to add some extra protection to ensure the category drop down is sorted alphabetically. The fix will be included in the 1.6 release, or if you need it before the final release of 1.6, please send me an email at chris@rocketgenius.com and I will get the latest release candidate to you. Thank you.
