Is it possible to automatically assign a case number to form submissions?
I need to make sure that no forms submissions go unanswered. To accomplish that. I would like to assign each submission a number so that if 7 and 9 are answered but 8 is not, it can be highlighted.
Is there a better way to do this?
By default, they do have entry ids. If you don't see them, go to Entries, and look for a small Edit button over on the right hand side at the top of the columns.
Select Entry ID and move it to the active side.

Can I customize the format (ie, 001 vs 00065) and reset the count?
You can't customize or reset them currently. To have a custom number, you would have to create a customization beyond what I could help with here.
