I want to auto select a category by a previous choice.
Example:
I have categories 1-17
Each category will have multiple entry codes
When a entry code is typed in by the user i would like the category that it should be posted in to be auto selected and only visiable by the admin.
How should i proceed?
I'm afraid I don't understand the question. Can you post a link to a site where this is in practice, or a link to where you already have this in progress? Is it possible to give more concrete examples of what you're trying to do?
An example could be something like this:
I have a store with 17 different types of products (categories). My users will have a code for their product, and based on their code, I want to pre-select the category for them to create the post in. This category should be shown only to the admin.

I have 17 different contest being held in all 3100+ US counties. I have set up CPT using a single category for each county and contest. Example
Alabama << Custom post type
County 1/ Contest 01 <<Category
County 1/ Contest 10 <<Category
County 1/ Contest 17 <<Category
County 2/ Contest 01 <<Category
County 2/ Contest 10 <<Category
County 2/ Contest 17 <<Category
I using entry codes that will be given to the user. The entry code will also be the title.
When they enter the code i would like it to prepopulate the contest category for that code.
Also if i could have it auto display a website URL for each code that would be good too!

I have two CPT i was testing and a form for each one.
Alabama is set up with sub-categories and AL W4F is set up with single categories.
