Anyway can I use lightbox with GF? Is there a simple way to upload photos and have them be checkboxed or radio box next to each one?

Yes and no. You can use several different lightbox/modal window scripts with the forms. They're all implemented a little differently but you can do it with a little customization. No to the second part. The upload happens when the form is submitted not before so you can't attach it to a form control as an option.. at least not without a respectable level of custom code.
