Can the fields in a "list" export in separate colums?

  1. Hello everyone,

I've set up a form with a list where people can submit their team roster. The fields in my list are:

Player Number, Player Name, Team Name, Address, etc...

When I export the entries from that form, it treats the data as one column in excel, rather than give each field its own column. I'd like Player Number, Player Name, Team Name, Address, etc... to export to separate columns in Excel. Is this possible?

When you import it into Excel, you should be able to set it up to also have a second separator, so not just the comma, but also the pipe character or whatever it is currently set to be. Would that work okay for you?

  3. It currently separates each column by this: |

But it's still all in one Excel column. I really need each column from the list to be separated into a separate Excel column...

  4. Can you send me a sample of the export you're using? Please send it to chris@rocketgenius.com

Sounds like, as David mentioned, that you can use both comma and pipe as delimiters in your import, and it would split on both of those delimiters, so you would get all the fields separated by commas into separate columns and also the list field, split into multiple columns, by the pipe delimiter. You will have to configure Excel to use both delimiters when you first go to import the CSV.
