Can this plugin be used to create a Pay to Post set up?

I'm looking to create a website where users can pay a specified amount to get a single item listed on the site. Ideally the user would pay and fill out a form and then contents of that form would get converted into a post of a custom type that gets added to the site. If they want to post again, they have to pay again. Also, ideally these posts would expire after a set amount of time, say 6 months, and then disappear from the site but maybe I'll need another plugin to accomplish this part.

how difficult would it be to set GF to dothis? it sounds like the main part could be done with the PayPal plugin. Is there a way to do that with other payment gateways too?

  2. You can do this with Gravity Forms. The only payment gateway currently supported is PayPal. An authorize.net add-on is coming soon.

You can create a pay to post setup as you describe. However, Gravity Forms is not going to expire your posts. You will have to have a WordPress plugin to do that, or modify your page template to not display posts older than 6 months or something. The rest can all be done with Gravity Forms and integration with the PayPal add-on.
