Cannot create any New Form (new installation)

  1. After having some problems attempting to install the gravity forms with my site
I installed a clean new WordPress page with no pluggins and the standard Twenty Twelve theme.
Installed only the gravity form pluggin and try to create a simple new form.
When I hit the "Save Form" it goes into an eternal spinwheel trying to save... nothing happens.

I uninstall the pluggin correctly, download a brand new copy, reinstall the whole thing again and the same thing happened.

    Please help me...
    Diego

  2. Can you enable WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php file, or check for web server PHP or Apache error logs?

    http://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG

Something is erroring out and causing the plugin to hang, but we will need more information to find out what that is.

Can you post a URL to your website? I know we won't be able to see a form but maybe something else will show up.

  3. Hi Chris,
I enabled the WP-DEBUG in the wp-config.php file... problem persist.
Here is the URL to my website: http://ayahuasca-wasi.com/testweb/
I don't have a form page since I cannot saved any New Form.
If you can give me an email I can send you the WP access so you can see the problem from inside.

    Thank you
    Diego

  4. I think this is related to your installation being in a subdirectory. The URL you pasted works fine and brings up the hello world post. But if you try to log in to the installation at http://ayahuasca-wasi.com/testweb/wp-admin you are redirected to http://ayahuasca-wasi.com/testweb/wordpress/wp-admin - it seems like there is something strange going on with how the site was configured.

    Did you use this procedure?

  5. Hi Chris,
I installed wordpress in the directory http://ayahuasca-wasi.com/testweb/wordpress
Then I changed the settings of the Site Address (URL) to http://ayahuasca-wasi.com/testweb
    Copy the index.php to the root directory and edit the file adding the wordpress path so it looked like require('./wordpress/wp-blog-header.php');

I think it is the standard procedure unless I am doing something wrong?
I also created a clean new testing website without doing the steps above and upload the gravity form pluggin (brand new wordpress installation, Twenty Twelve theme, no other pluggins and no change of Site Adress (URL) ) and got the same unable to save a New Form result.

    Suggestions??

  6. Activating WP_DEBUG would not have actually fixed anything; it would just help pinpoint any errors which might be causing the trouble.

Are you using any language or database collation settings in your wp-config.php file?

It sounds like you have installed WordPress correctly in its own directory.

  8. @memyniche, please begin a new topic for your issue and provide as much information as you can. Please start by checking for theme and plugin conflicts by using these instructions http://rkt.gs/testing

  9. I went to check with another internet provider and it worked perfect. So is a problem in my internet provider. I live on a small town in Peru and the webmaster is coming in two days.
I guess it has something to do with the server cache still pointing to the old DNS server or something like that. Do you have any idea of what could be happening there? The webmaster is not really a "master" so maybe you could help me understand and give him some direction.
    Thank you

  10. I don't have any specific information that would be able to help. DNS cache issues are normally resolved on their own, based on how often the cache is expired. It's possible your issue may take care of itself soon.
