Checkbox selections in user notification email

    Hi there,

I have set up a referral form that includes five checkboxes. They must be checkboxes so the referrer can select more than one reason for referring the friend. You can view the form here:

    http://hammond-associates.com/wordpress1/refer-a-friend/

In the notification email that goes to the person being referred, I need to include the checkbox results. Unfortunately, in the email they show up like this:

"They're blackmailing me, You need their help, They know everyone in town, You'll like their philosophy, They did great work for me"

How can I format these something that is grammatically correct, say as a bulleted list? Feel free to fill out the form yourself to see the entire notification that is generated.

    Thank you for your help.

  2. Checkbox choices should already be a bulleted list in the notification email. Are you using a content template, or did you turn off default formatting?

If I submit a test with your form, will I receive a copy of the information formatted as you described?

If you like, you can export a copy of the form (Import/Export > Export Forms, then select the form) as XML and email it to me at chris@rocketgenius.com and I will take a look for you. Thanks.

Yes, if you fill out the form as the person referring someone or the person being referred, you will receive the notification email.

I did not disable default formatting.

I sent the export to your email address. Thanks again!

  4. I see that you created a custom user notification. I'll try to figure out how to get all the checkbox choices into an unordered list for you.

If you turn off the custom notification and use the standard notification with {all_fields} you will see that the checkbox choices are a bulleted list (this is what happens in the admin notification now.)

Thanks, Chris. I saw that in the admin notification. Looking forward to hearing from you.

  6. Hi Melissa. Please download and use this code as your user notification: http://pastebin.com/8caYuead

BE SURE to check the box "Disable Auto-formatting" since we created our own HTML notification and you do not want extra spaces added where you have new lines.

I cleaned up some of your HTML. You should have received a referral email from me from a form submission on my site. Let me know if this works for you. Thanks
