conditional logic function

  1. Hi there,

I have searched the forum and can't seem to find what I'm after

It may sound a bit simple but basically I'm looking at hiding the total field when certain fields are selected...it seems to work for fine the packaging field however I don't think I understand it fully.

    On my website:

    http://eha-duplication.co.uk/cd-duplication/

I'm only looking to hide the total field when people select:

    PVC wallet>> 1 sided insert
    PVC Wallet>> 2 sided insert
Self Adhesive PVC Wallet>> 1 sided insert
Self Adhesive PVC Wallet 2>> sided insert
Slimline Jewel Case>> 2 Page Booklet
Slimline Jewel Case>> 2 Page Booklet
Standard Jewel Case (Black)>> 2 Page Booklet>> rear tray card
Standard Jewel Case (Black)>> 2 Page Booklet>> rear tray card (double sided)
Standard Jewel Case (Black)>> 4 Page Booklet>> rear tray card
Standard Jewel Case (Clear)>> 4 Page Booklet>> rear tray card (double sided)

and then display it when they select anything else

I have tried experimenting with the hide, show, all, any, is, is not functions however I can't seem to make it work

I was wandering is it because I am trying set the conditional logic in a certain way

i.e. trying to specify a logic if someone clicks on a combination of fields?

any help would be much appreciated :)

  2. Please export your form to XML using the Import/Export tool and then select Export Form and provide a link to the XML file so we can download and install your form locally and take a look.

  3. Hi Carl

Ok great thanks for your help

I have exported the form as an xml and uploaded to my sever

    Here is a link:

  4. The problem is that the logic for the total field would be dependent on fields that already have a condition on them. This would create a nested conditional logic that is not supported by Gravity Forms. In some simpler scenarios, there is a way to get around this problem, but the logic required for your situation is a little too complex and the workaround wouldn't work.
The bottom line is that you will need to restructure the way you have your form to be able to hide the total based on the conditions you have. You will basically have to make sure all the fields that are conditions for the total (i.e. PVC Wallet, Slimline Jewel Case, etc..) don't have any conditional logic applied to them (i.e are always visible).

  5. thanks for your reply

Right ok ...that does make sense.

Basically I'm trying to cut down on people selecting the wrong printed parts for certain packaging... so those packaging fields need to have conditional logic on them.

I might add a short bit of html to popup when people select those packaging options to say that they can contact us directly

I imagine that would be the easiest workaround

Is it likely that gravity forms will be able to specify more than one conditional logic per field ...in the future?

    thanks for your help :)

  6. hey Alex, i notice you say theres a work around, apart from "ewans" case as its a little to complex, im looking for awork around for something a little smaller, any chance you could let us in on the work around??

    cheers

  7. @cbrook79,
Go ahead and try to explain what you are trying to do. It will be easier for me to explain if I have something to go by.

  8. Hi Alex,
Thanks for the hepl....here go's.... I did want a form like this one here...
    https://secure.britishprint.co.uk/orderprocess.php?p=NexJobPage.asp?Id=19

But then i read a few post on here saying the email out-put wouldnt support conditional logic (is this true?)..

(It is for printing purchases)Im trying to build a form that will show (allow) a user to select a print format either 130gsm matt or gloss and then how many pages they would like to print but then choose a quantity to go along with the amount of pages, obviously changing the price depending on what user selects...

Hope this makes sense, but if you take a look at that link im sure you will know what i mean... im after something similar cause this is our supplier.

Heres the form i did create which did what i wanted, (more or less) but wouldnt output in the email order form... the site still under construction so if it dosnt load or somethigns wrong then this is why...

  9. Sorry for the delay responding to this, but it looks like the form works as it should. You mentioned that the problem is that it "wouldn't output in the email order form". I am not sure I follow that. If you still have issues with it, can you try explaining again what exactly the problem is?
