Coupon/Discount ETA

  1. I've got coupons going on GF with Paypal and was thinking of expanding on it and putting a plugin on WordPress.org for everyone. Seems that it would be silly to do if coupons are coming in the next little bit so is there an ETA of any sort for coupons?

  2. Coupon/promo codes aren't in active development but are on our future roadmap.

We weren't planning on introducing coupon code capabilities directly in the PayPal Add-On. Because we also have an Authorize.Net Add-On actively being used in alpha testing and getting set to be released as a beta and we will be introducing additional payment gateway add-ons... building it into the payment add-on itself is not ideal.

What we planned on doing is introducing a coupon specific add-on that will work with all of the payment gateway add-ons. However it probably won't be until sometime later in 2012, most likely the spring or summer, before we could devote the development resources necessary to this project.

So if you have the functionality and wanted to package it up and make it available to users on WordPress.org, go for it.

  3. Alright I'll work on it. My plan would be to make it as generic as possible as well so that it could be used with other payment addons as they become available.

  4. I can't wait for this option to become available.

  5. curtismchale, can you post the coupon code script you are working on? I would love to see how you have it before I go nutz and try to develop the same idea.

  6. curtismchale, +1 on the plugin for coupon codes :)

I'm hoping to get this working with the Authorize.net add-on...

  8. I have been waiting for this for a very long time.

If you have something to share, even if it's not 100% complete that would be great.

Any progress here? Gonna need to move to wufoo unfortunately if not but I'd really rather not.

  12. Any update on the plugin? I really need this functionality and would prefer to do it correctly instead of the work around.

It hasn't been released yet, but we no longer give out ETA's. For now, the workarounds that others have come up with are the best solutions to providing such abilities.

  14. You no longer give out ETA's, which is fine, but is it in development? Been waiting a while for this one!

Is Gravity Forms still pushing the Coupon Code Add-On? With the above listed add-on you cannot add a mass list of codes, you have to add them all individually. Any updates?...not ETAs :-)

    Hi,
I'm also interested in a Coupon functionality on GF.
    the solution proposed here https://github.com/curtismchale/Coupons-for-Gravity-Forms
    does have bugs and limitation

in multipage forms it does not work and it's not usable on a page with lot of product variations
furthermore (I don't know why) after applying the coupon the price to pay on paypal gets doubled instead of discounted...

is this feature still on GF roadmap?

It is still on our roadmap. All my best!

    Hi David,
I know maybe I'm asking a bit too much but, do you already have a release date for that?

Posted 12 years ago on Friday December 21, 2012 | Permalink

As I've said before, we no longer provide release dates as it sets expectations that we can't always meet since our development cycle is effected by too many factors.

I see your point and I respect it.
I just hope to see this feature soon, it would actually be very useful as GF are often used to sell stuff ... but you know this better than me! ;)
