Credit Card Information on Forms: Any way to encrypt or keep these private?

On a form, if you are collecting credit card information, is there anyway to encrypt the card numbers as a security measure to protect from eyes that may see the database?

For instance, make the credit card # something like this **** **** **** 1234

If not, what measures are available for privacy / security when collecting credit card information?

I appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks.

  2. There is no built in option for encryption. If you want to encrypt data you would have to do so as a customization. We would like to create an encryption add-on to make this easier in the future. Security is one of the reasons we haven't created a Credit Card field type.

We don't plan on implementing a Credit Card specific field type until we introduce Add-Ons for payment gateways such as Authorize.Net and PayPal Pro. At which time we will introduce a Credit Card field, but it won't store the data, it will only pass it to the payment gateway for processing.

If you need to encrypt fields now you would have to write custom code to do so using available API hooks which are documented in the Developer Documentation area of the Documentation.

  3. Any news on when the Authorize.net add-on is coming? I love the function of gravity forms. It's missing that one little thing ;)

  4. It's high on our list. It will probably be later this fall. The developer we will have work on it is wrapping up work on the AWeber Add-On and then we will be looking at PayPal Pro and Authorize.Net integration.
