CSS Question - where to keep it?

  1. I was just wondering, as I try to speed up my site, is it better to have Gravity Forms deal with it's own CSS file? I had previously copied all of the CSS into my main theme CSS, but I think that might be slowing things down.

    Any advice?

    Thank you!

I think the biggest issue with adding it yourself is that if a Gravity Forms update has CSS changes, you'll have to remember to manually add them to your own CSS.

Are you using a caching plugin? W3 Total Cache will minimize CSS and offer other enhancements that might help. Unless you're getting a huge number of visitors, you probably don't need to worry too much about leaving Gravity Forms to deal with its own CSS.

  3. Ham funny you ask - I just installed W3 Total Cache ten minutes ago, and it's a problem. My site was showing as running at 54/100, installed W3 and it went to 88/100. But, the Minify setting is breaking my Photograti Galleries (image slideshows) so I have had to switch that off. Speed dropped to 56/100. Damn!

I have left GF to do the CSS, just tweaked one setting to suit my needs.

    Thanks! Your response was FAST
