Delete Uploads/Keep Form?

  1. Hi! We have a form which allows clients to upload a PDF file. We download these files as they come in and have no need for them to remain in Wordpress. We want to keep the form entry though. In order to delete the file through Wordpress, I need to delete the entire entry, right? Would it be possible to add a function that deletes just the file associated with the entry and leaves the entry? Alternatively, if we delete everything in the uploads/gravity_forms directory using FTP, will we still be able to view entries (sans upload file) without screwing up anything so the next upload comes in just fine? Thanks!! jean

  2. Jean, you should be able to just delete the file off the server if you don't need it anymore without messing with the entry. Have you tried doing a test on this? Uploading a sample entry/PDF and then deleting the file to see what happens?

  3. I'll do the test Rob - thanks. I'm guessing I can delete the index files and temp files without any fall-out too?
