Difference Between Page Break and Section Break

  1. I using "conditional logic" and am following your recommendations from this post: http://forum.gravityhelp.com/topic/if-x-then-a-new-specific-question-appears-option

This is the part I don't understand completely:

If you apply Conditional Logic to a Section Break it applies to ALL fields under that Section Break up to the next Section Break so you can show/hide a group of fields. If you apply Conditional Logic to a Page Break (in Gravity Forms 1.5) it applies to that entire Page.

    Thanks for the clarification.

  2. A Page Break is used to create pages in a multi-page form.

A Section Break is just a display element that displays a title and description and can be used to group fields together. It doesn't create pages.

If you add conditional logic to a Section Break it is applied to all fields that you have positioned below that Section Break field. So you can show/hide a group of fields by applying conditional logic to a Section Break. This is so you don't have to add conditional logic to each and every one of the fields since they are all going to do the same thing.

If you add conditional logic to a Page Break it applies to all fields that appear on that page because if you are hiding the Page Break it hides the entire page. That is how you show/hide pages of fields based on user selections.

  3. Ok, I think that makes sense. Testing it all now and will share the form when I'm done.

    Thanks Carl!
