Directions on Advanced Calculation

I need advanced calculations based on other fields. This is for a printing company where the user will enter the width and height of their product and then multiply that by the square foot price AND then multiply that number by the material chosen in a different field. I could find no tutorial and no post clearly explaining how to do this.

My problem is exactly the same as this person's problems http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/variable-pricing-multiplier-option-instead-of-fixed-price but I can't even get to where he started.

    Thanks

You just need to use a Calculation field, either a Number field or Product field, and use Calculation as the type. Then you use the merge tags from your collection fields and multiply them together, and then multiply by the amount of money you want to use. You can have these set-up conditionally based on the material chosen, so if they choose Oak, you have the field display that is related to that calculation. If they choose Pine, you have the Oak field calculation hidden and the Pine one shown, and so on for however many you have to show/hide. I hope that helps.

Ok great, I'll try this tonight. Is there an explicit guide somewhere that explains this thoroughly that I can look at?

    Thanks

There isn't a guide for any specific things like this as of yet. We have our documentation but it won't go into detail on how to do this. Sorry.

I've got it close, but my total price isn't reflecting the correct banner product price, which is the $15 number:

The backend of my form looks like this:

    https://www.diigo.com/item/image/1adx9/ab10?size=o

https://www.diigo.com/item/image/1adx9/qh4k?size=o (The dollar amounts assigned to the inches are just placeholder numbers used in the calculation)

I'll be integrating it with my Woocommerce cart next like this:

Can you link to the actual form so I can play around with it on the front end? Something has to be messing it up...
