Downloading Older Versions -- Make it happen!

I definitely understand I should keep good backups of older versions... but it would be super swell if you guys maintained access to older versions. The problem and joy of automatic updates is that we don't have to download older versions manually... which means if something breaks or causes problems with a newer version... my most recent direct download may be fairly old.

It would be super helpful if there was a repository of older downloads. I'm kinda in a funky place right now because something happened in the 1.7 update and my order forms no longer work :-(...

I can't speak for management, but I assume the reason we don't release old versions is because we create constant improvements, and those improvements, like our 1.7 release are required for continued support. There is nothing worse than trying to troubleshoot old versions of Gravity Forms where we've already solved the problem and released the update to fix it.

We work hard on our support so that you can hopefully get things working again in a way that makes you happy, and doesn't require you to get out of sync with our update cycle. We appreciate that people want old versions, but it just creates too many issues for us as a company and even more so for us to support and manage.

Hopefully, we can get you working the way you want without any kind of rollback.

I'm with you... though I think you could make a policy of only supporting the current version, while still providing the older versions for knuckleheads like me.

The problem with some of the more complex forms is that it is difficult to research points of of failure... when you bring in third party plugins it is a completely different ballgame. Related... I really wish yall provided a stripe plugin! I have purchased the third party plugin... but it's not the same as one offered and supported by you. Naomi is typically great at being responsive, but as of Thursdayish when I upgraded GF (I shouldn't have) my purchase forms have been down and I have not gotten a response from her. I understand it is the weekend, etc etc etc. but I had to turn off purchasing at my website and lose all the momentum created with the CPC campaigns I've been running. It seems you guys would have made sure your add-ons were compatible before the major release... now I'm just waiting hoping for a response as my campaign is dead.

    You guys are awesome.

We had our updated version in Beta for a few weeks to allow third party developers a chance to download it, test it and update their scripts.

I appreciate your issue, and in case by case basis, we can provide older versions of the plugin for extenuating circumstances if you request them through our Contact Us system. Just let us know which version you are looking for and why, and I can send it to you.

i appreciate the reply. i still don't understand the harm in offering a repository! my credit card processing is still broken because the developer of the stripe plugin has not released an update... and has missed the self-declared deadline "within 7 days of gf release"... and has not been very responsive ... and has not been proactive or even reactive in communicating with customers... and wasnt prepared for this 1.7 release :/.

it is definitely frustrating and disappointing to feel so helpless, with really little expectation of resolution.

  6. I am also having a problem with my credit card payment form, since upgrade to 1.7.2 yesterday, however i don't have any plugins with it other than salesforce API addon and CF7 importer (both up to date).
In the form builder i have a
    user contributed price field,
a 2% surcharge field that auto calculates in inputs the surcharge,
and a total price field that adds the 2 previous fields together. (all product fields)
I then have a hidden field that sends the order to our credit card merchant. (number field).
on the website, these all work as they should (user puts in a price, the 2% is calculated and shows, and the total is calculated and shows), however in the backend, in both the entries and in the notification email that is sent, the total field does not add the surcharge (even though it does in the webpage) and the hidden field is only coming through with a value of 0. all of the calculations are correct, and it should work. I had a php guy (the person who intergrated the form with our merchant) look over it, and he cannpt find any error either, and has also concluded that it is a problem with the update...
    any thoughts?

sorry if this was the wrong place to post, but it seemed relevant.
hopefully that is enough info at least to start.

Daniel - please post your own thread for support.

WordPressUser - The issue is that people will rollback without ever working with us to troubleshoot the issue, and that creates new issues. Or people will want troubleshooting of older versions, and cause support time to increase.
