drop down conditional field disappearing after selection

  1. I have a multi-page form at http://solarbridgetech.com/contact-us/contact-us/. The last field on the first page -- I am inquiring as a/an* -- which is required, is disappearing once the selection is made within the drop down. Other fields depend upon the answer to this question to display what they need to display. That part seems to be working. For example, if someone picks Homeowner within the drop down selection, and they click Submit, they are taken to the correct page where we'll have homeowner-specific text. However, I'm wondering why the field disappears after a selection is made (and before Submit is hit). It doesn't seem like it should do that, and I'm sure that when I show my client, they'll question it.

At one point I had the form set to show some text on the that same first form page based upon the answer to that question, and the same thing happened (where the field disappeared -- the conditional text seemed to replace it). I have since gotten rid of that text and instead have the text appearing on the next page, but the field is still disappearing. Any ideas on how to fix, or is this something that happens automatically?

Finally, once I do get this issue working, I am also wondering if we can have custom or conditional thank you pages. Right now I have pages showing depending upon how someone answers various questions, (example - homeowners will come to a page that lists links of suppliers to meet their needs) but if they don't hit submit on those pages (and there's not really a reason for them to as there are no further fields requested), then we don't collect any of their data for tracking.

Your problem is more than likely being caused by a plugin or theme conflict, you should work through the the following guide. http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Testing_for_a_Theme/Plugin_Conflict

Also this is probably connected to the plugin/theme conflict but if you check out the developer panel in Chrome you will find several errors and warnings being reported.

  3. The host we use provides staging site which is a duplicate of the live site, but with a different URL. You can see it here: http://solarbridge.staging.wpengine.com/contact-us/contact-us/ Here in the staging site I activated 2010 theme and also deactivated ALL plugins and then reactivated gravity forms. The problem is still there.

  4. Could you export that form and email the XML file to me at rob@rocketgenius.com or a login to that staging site would work too.

  5. Thanks for emailing me Rob. For other users: the problem was that I had the drop down field itself set as a conditional field. Problem solved!
