dynamic field population

  1. hi there,

we're using gravity forms to allow our car club members to register for an event. you can see the form here: http://www.mgcaledonian.com/?gf_page=preview&id=41

we'd also like to use gravity forms to notify members if their registration has been successful following receipt of payment for the event (an offline process).

the sequence of events would go something like this:

    1. user completes booking form
    2. user makes payment to club using entry ID as a unique reference number
    3. club treasurer checks bank statement, takes entry ID and enters it into a gravity form
    4. gravity form dynamically populates the other fields in the form with all other details
    5. form notification delivers email confirmation message to club member

any help or advice would be much appreciated,

    robin

  2. We can't see your form preview: only logged in administrators for your site can see the form previews.

#4 is where we're going to get stuck. Can you describe where the dynamic information comes from, and how it's related to the original entry and the payment status? What makes it dynamic?

Maybe there is a way to do what you want using two forms, or hidden fields in one form, then resending the notification after payment is received. Thank you for any additional information you can provide.

  3. thanks for getting back to me chris,

the event (just for the bigger picture) overview is here:
    http://www.mgcaledonian.com/european-event-2013/

    the pre-registration form is here:
    http://www.mgcaledonian.com/registration-of-interest-page/

essentially we're already capturing things like name, email, etc against a unique gravity ID. we want the club treasurer to be able to enter that ID into a form field (perhaps on one page) and the system to automatically populate the rest of the fields related to that ID (perhaps on the next page). once submitted the notification email from this form would go to the user to inform them that payment has been received - booking is confirmed.

or any other ideas to achieve the same effect!
