Editing Fields and Forms almost impossible

  1. The problems started with 1.7.1 so i decided to upgrade to 1.7.3 but its got worse. Using WP 3.5.1.

What happens when making a new form.
    1. The input for the form Name field is off screen but the description is visible.
    2. Say i add a couple of new fields and then save the form all the fields have vanished and you see the form start screen again. If i hit the save form field again the fields are back. However when i go to the settings tab and back again all fields have disappeared again.

    Editing an existing form
    1. If i change something in an existing field i have to do it twice before it takes effect.
Sometimes when i think the field is edited and saved that doesn't seem to be the case. When i go to the front end the field is not visible and returning to the form editor to see that the field has vanished.

It's like a game of hide and seek.
Is their anyone having the same issues?
Because this is on an operational site i'm afraid the upgrade version 1.7.5 not knowing whats the cause of these problems.

I've also tried this on a local install on WP 3.5.1 with only the gravity forms plugin with the 2011 theme and still the same issues.

    Thanks

Have you tried testing for a plugin/theme conflict, the form name on the create form dialogue being off screen has been reported before by other users and has always been caused by a conflict. You can try enabling 'No-Conflict Mode' on the Gravity Forms generals settings page and that will try and prevent your theme and plugins from including scripts and syles on the Gravity Forms admin pages.

As for you issues editing and saving forms, these problems could also be the result of a plugin/theme conflict but they could also be due to a lack of available php memory, try following the advice in the following article to increase that http://www.nerdgrind.com/increase-wordpress-and-php-memory-limit/

Also you should update to the latest version of the plugin as 1.7.5 fixes a number of bugs including an "issue with new form not displaying fields after first time it was saved"

  3. I have had exactly these problems as well. and click edit, the form opens and closes, repeatedly, it's maddening. This has stopped, although i have not turned off plugins.
However: closing and going to top of form continues.: "Update Form" closes accordians, goes to top of form, have to scroll down each time form is Updated. Awkward, awkward.
Also—there is text in fields, "Enter your zip code here" that i can't remove and it's incorrect.
the address fields where i've removed the second address line, shows "enter your city" where state should be. All quickfill has moved to the left, i can't remove this text.
and text fields have wrong message in them. how to remove this default. it's not in default value field. a text field has "Enter your state here" for no reason.

Please try the following as this is likely an issue where a theme or plugin is adding JavaScript on our form administration pages - http://rkt.gs/testing

  5. I fixed the default text problem. Disabled a Chrome extension Autofill 5.5.
