Email not being received when submitting contact form

  1. I have already implemented the instructions provided as per the notification link http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Notifications
Yet I am still not receiving emails! I have checked that the person submitting the contact form receive their email. But I do not receive the emails that have been submitted.
    How can I resolve this??!!

Is other mail from WordPress working (such as forgotten login detail messages)?

  4. I've also configured WP-Mail-SMTP since I'm on Godaddy. The test email through the plugin works, but the Gravity form that I have doesn't send a notification email to the admin and people I have listed on the BCC list, so that's weird (with other sites that I've had to use the SMTP plugin it has resolved the notification issue right away).

Also, with another site on the same shared server account (Godaddy), the same SMTP settings give me the following error when sending a test. I'm not sure where or how to troubleshoot this....

"SMTP -> FROM SERVER:250 yS8d1i0073rxVrs01:4GH:Message dropped for spam or virus content"

As azsmall23 has mentioned in a way, you may need to configure an SMTP plugin or service to be able to properly send notification e-mails.

Check in with your hosts and let them know of the issue and see if they have any limitations in place that would stop you from sending e-mails through WordPress. Gravity Forms hooks into WordPress' built-in wp-mail functions.

As for azsmall23 - you might want to contact your host regarding this issue.

  6. We have one gravity form on our website that works great. I have now added an additional form on a different page and set it up exactly the same way. We are not receiving the email when this 2nd contact form (liquor cost calculator) is submitted. We are receiving the submission email from the first form (contact us) fine. I would appreciate any help you can give me on this.
    Thank you

What does your Notification section look like for that form? What are the differences between the two forms (working and non-working)? Are you using the latest versions of WordPress and Gravity Forms? Looking forward to helping you solve this.

  8. Hi David, thank you for responding so quickly.
I am using Gravity Forms Version 1.6.3.3.4 Should I update to v1.6.4.5? I am using WP WordPress 3.3.1 It's not prompting an upgrade. Attached are links to screen shots of notification pages for both forms. The first one below is one that works and the 2nd is the one that doesn't. There really not differences between the 2 forms except for some of the fields.

Yes, please update both your WordPress and Gravity Forms versions. (WordPress 3.4.1 is out). Once you've upgraded, can I you send me admin login details so I can take a look? My e-mail is peralty@rocketgenius.com.

  10. David, I have updated the Gravity Forms. The 2nd form is still not working. Updating the WordPress is going to entail a little more work, liking backing-up the site as it is now. I will let you know as soon as this is able to be done.

Also, here is a link to our first line troubleshooting steps - http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Testing_for_a_Theme/Plugin_Conflict

I've been seeing plugins messing with notifications lately, so you might want to try the following.

Lastly, my recommendation would be to install an SMTP plugin and configure it to reduce the odds that it is some strange wp-mail.php issue with WordPress.
