Email notifications coming through twice

  1. Ok, so my form is set up and all working nicely, however when the submit button is pushed I'm getting the email notification twice.

It's probably something really simple, but can anyone advise how I can stop it from doing this?

    Thanks

  2. This is a plugin conflict. You have another plugin that is manipulating the post content to do processing on it which results on the post content being loaded twice which results in the notifications being sent twice. One plugin that causes this issue is the Simple Facebook Connect plugin.

We implemented a workaround for this in the 1.5 release that detects if this is happening and prevents the duplicate notifications from being sent.

The 1.5 release is currently a development release that is available on the Downloads page. It will be released as a final release at the end of this month once we finish the new site design and documentation. It is stable.

  3. I haven't got that plugin but it appears there's something that conflicts with recaptcha as well as I'm getting forms through even though it keep saying the code is wrong. I'll have to try and find out what it is but will try the 1.5 download first.

    Thanks

  4. If you have any kind of other recaptcha plugin installed, that could be causing a conflict with the recaptcha functionality of Gravity Forms.

If you need to determine which plugin is causing a conflict you would have to deactivate ALL plugins. Then activate Gravity Forms and test if it works okay. Then activate each plugin one by one, testing your form after each one until you encounter the plugin that is introducing the conflict.

If it happens with all other plugins deactivated it is possible the conflict is theme related as theme code can also cause conflicts with plugins.

Let us know what you find out.

  5. Right, I deactivated everything so that GF was the only plugin running. Still coming through twice and the recaptcha problem is still there.

I'm running the ProPhoto theme, so I'm guessing it's going to be that?

  6. We've never had a theme cause this problem, it's always been the Simple Facebook Connect plugin that has caused it. It's possible it could be theme related. The way to test that is to activate the default TwentyTen theme and then test your form.

Then again i'm not familiar with the ProPhoto theme also, they aren't one of the more well known theme providers so it's possible it is something the theme is doing. If it is the theme, if you provide us a copy of the theme we can debug it and see why it is causing the issue.

  7. Ok, I'll try the theme later and will report back

  8. I am also getting duplicate entries and using the ProPhoto photographer theme. Any resolution on this? Duplicate entries are rather annoying...

  9. If you try with the Twenty Eleven theme, do you get duplicate entries? If so, it's a theme conflict.

If not, and it happens every time, you need to check for plugin conflicts. It could be a cache plugin, or something like Facebook Connect.

You can start testing for theme and plugin conflicts starting here:

    That's the first step.
