Embed form in Maintenance Mode Plugin

I'm trying to embed a simple form to have people submit their email on a splash page to be notified when our site opens....I've tried doing it with the shortcode in the Maintenance Mode and WP Maintenance plugins but it doesn't work, it just shoes the code text, not the form. Is there a way to do this?

  2. That is because the Maintenance Mode plugin isn't parsing shortcodes when it displays it's message. You would probably have to modify that plugin so that it parses shortcodes. I'm not familiar with how it works, you may also have to modify it to ensure that the shortcode can enqueue any necessary scripts. Maintenance Mode changes how WordPress executes so i'm not 100% sure what all you would have to modify to make it work.
