  2. Gravity Forms uses WordPress capabilities. I'm not familiar with those role editors but I know it works fine with the Members plugin which implements role management for WordPress.

    It can be installed here:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/members/

If you activate this plugin and turn on role management and the Gravity Forms menu disappears, this is going to be due to role management. You'll need to use Members to edit the Admin role and make sure all the Gravity Forms capabilities are checked.
