Entry Notification Not being Sent Out

  1. I have a problem with the paypal plugin. I want paypal and wordpress to email me when a form has been submitted. The form notification is not being sent out when the "Send admin notification only when payment is received. " paypal option is checked. I only receive a paypal confirmation email. I need both the paypal confirmation email and the form entry notification sent. Is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks!

  2. You first need to see if notifications are working normally. With a non-PayPal form do you receive the admin notifications?

  3. Yes. When we uncheck the paypal option "Send admin notification only when payment is received. ", we receive a form entry notification. When the paypal option is checked, we receive paypal confirmation but not the entry form confirmation.

  4. Are the Entries for the form being marked as Paid/Approved when a payment is made? Or do they still say Processing? If they still say Processing then that is why. PayPal IPN isn't communicating back to your site and marking the entries as paid.

  5. Yup. That's it. They're all marked as processing. Is there a reason why the IPN wouldn't be communicating back to the site? I have the IPN setup in paypal URL going to http://www.myserve.net/?page=gf_paypal_ipn and have checked the "Receive IPN messages (Enabled)". In the paypal plugin setup, I have checked the "Confirm that your have configured your PayPal account to enable IPN".

  6. Login to your PayPal account and go to the IPN History and see what the history tells you. You can see the IPN requests. See if they are failing or not. Typically IPN issues are going to be web server issues blocking the IPN process.

  7. Hi Carl, I went to my IPN history and it's showing that the notifications have sent, yet in the gravity form it says that it's still processing. Do you think the web server is blocking the IPN?
    Thanks for your help!

  8. It's possible. We can look into this and debug the IPN but in order to do so we would need the following information:

    - WordPress admin login
    - FTP login

You can send this information to me directly at carl@rocketgenius.com and reference this forum post and we can take a look tomorrow and debug the IPN notifications to see why they aren't being processed.

I just sent you an email. Again, thanks for all of your help!

  10. This issue turned out to be an extra space at the end of the PayPal email entered in the PayPal Add-On settings. We will be updating the PayPal Add-On to make sure any extra spaces are trimmed in the next release.
