Entry payment status is "Processing" — PayPal has no record of these submissions

  1. Hello,

I am using the PayPal add on to process conference registrations. Some payments are successfully processing through PayPal on the first try but I can see that some have to try multiple times. I see multiple entries for the same person and on the first try the payment status is processing. I have contacted PayPal and they have no record of the of the entries that are processing. I currently have 13 different entries — 2 people tried to register and it never processed through PayPal and PayPal has no record of it. Another three people were successful on the second attempt but PayPal has no record of the first attempt.

Any assistance you can provide to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. I am expecting several hundred registrations over the next few weeks and am very concerned that we will lose registrations if people have to try multiple times to register.

    Thank you!

  2. Hi, elanham,

Do you have the latest version of the PayPal Add-On (v1.4)? If not, please install it because there have been some improvements made. The new version was released last week (details about the release can be read here: http://www.gravityhelp.com/gravity-forms-paypal-add-on-v1-4-released/).

If the newer version doesn't make a difference, please let us know.

  4. I also have the same problem with our forms. We've been using GF for a while and this has not been an issue. I don't know if its a coincidence or not, but issue seemed to start after we upgraded to GF 1.6.3.1 and PayPal Add-On 1.4.

Here's the link to our two forms which are having issues. This is the first time I've had two forms on the same page. Any chance this is the issue?

    Thanks,

  5. I have also been having a similar issue. We are hosting a conference and have our conference registration setup through Gravity Forms + PayPal. I have a registration form that asks for a PayPal payment. It says I have over 100 different entries for that form, but only 65 PayPal payments have been received. Why is that? How can I resolve this issue? (Only allow complete registration (with payment) be submitted as a entry.

  6. Hi there, Im having the same issue. Double and sometimes even triple entries and payment status saying processing.

  7. We are also having this issue using the following Gravity Forms plugins:
    Gravity Forms - Version 1.6.3.1.2
    Gravity Forms PayPal Add-On - 1.4
Gravity Forms User Registration Add-On - Version 1.3
    Gravity Forms MailChimp Add-On - 1.6.2
Gravity Forms + Custom Post Types - Version 3.0.1 (I realize this is not an official GF plugin)

FYI the page has a long multipage form and can be found here:

  8. Any progress on this issue? I noticed there was an update to the plugin, but didn't see anything in the notes directly related to the problem. For my clients, it doesn't seem to even get over to the PayPal side. So something is happening when they hit submit which is preventing the re-direct to PayPal.

  10. Hi, everyone,

Can you help us out a bit? Can you turn on logging for PayPal so we can see what is going on? You can do this by going to the Forms --> Settings --> PayPal link at the top. Once there add "&debug=1" to the url in the browser. Once you do this, a Debugging Settings section will display. Set Logging to "Log all messages" and click on Save. Once you have some transactions that have the problem, please send us the log file(s) generated. The log file will be in ...\wp-content\plugins\gravityformspaypal . You can email them to dana@rocketgenius.com or alex@rocketgenius.com and include a link to this forum topic.

    Thank you.

  11. I ran into this issue as well but found a resolution. After turning on logging I noticed that there was an error stating that there was an email address mismatch. I have a number of email addresses attached to my PayPal account and was using one of the vanity one's for this, but I in fact needed to use the Primary email address. You can check to see what the Primary PayPal email account is by logging in and viewing Profile > Add or Edit Email. Once they match you should be good to go.

  14. I have found that Gravity Forms does this when a user completes the form and is transferred to paypal, but bails before completing the transaction.

  16. Hi, wilflare,

We haven't received any logs which would point us to an issue. So, if anyone has logs that will help, please send them along.

  17. I'm having the same issue. We have two forms: one for a one-time donation, and one for a monthly donation (which is basically a subscription). Both worked in testing, but only the one-time donation goes through in production. I've enabled logging, and hopefully there is a resolution soon.

I'm curious: these transactions that are pending...can they still go through once the issue is fixed, or are they lost forever?

  18. Here is my log page http://elim.org.sv/iglesia/wp-content/plugins/gravityformspaypal/log.txt but look nothing is there! HELP please!

BTW, this is my donation page http://www.elim.org.sv/donaciones/ don't work!

  19. Confirming what g0shu4 posted. If a user fills out the GF form but does not complete the transaction on PayPal's slide, then there will be an orphaned entry with the status shown as Payment Status: Processing in the Info panel.

  20. I'm having this problem now trying to test using the sandbox. I have a test account set up, and am getting the link error.

Could this be caused by using a sandbox account that is the same as the merchant account? Could it also possibly be cause by me limiting access to wordpress to my IP for development?

I'm dead in the water right now.

It is probably the limit you placed on accessing WordPress from your IP address for development. Again, without knowing more about your set-up there is little we can do in regards to troubleshooting.

  22. I figured out that it was failing because I was using my real account for the merchant.

I was able to make the payment, but a user account was not created. Is this normal for testing?

  23. After searching here, I found that the checkbox I required had html in it ( a link to terms ) was preventing user registration. Now the form is not sending to paypal, but registering a user without payment.

I'll create a new post for that issue.

  24. I can't get the &debug=1 or &debug=true option to work. I don't see anything about Logging. Here is the URL: http://example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=gf_settings&addon=PayPal&debug=true

I'm on a multisite and am using the latest versions for WP, GF and GF PayPal Addon.

I would like to debug because I am not receiving any IPN messages.

  25. Please send an email to rob@rocketgenius.com and reference this post. He should be able to get you the logging add-on which is not yet released. Thank you.
