Exported CSV instead of XML. Help!

  1. I upgraded to the Developer's License just a few moments ago. Before I did, I did what I thought was a backup of 3 very long forms I had created. I didn't see the XML tab, and exported them to CSV. I then uninstalled GF and re-installed the developer's version. Of course when I went to import the forms, GF said they were not in the right format because they are CSV instead of XML.

Is there anything I can do, instead of having to rebuild the forms?

  2. You didn't need to uninstall to upgrade your license. Did you click on the red uninstall button or just remove the files from the plugin folder?

If you did delete everything with the red button, you're going to have to look for a backup if you have any or else you're going to have to recreate the forms. The red button uninstalls everything related to Gravity Forms.. all the entries, forms, etc.

  3. That's what I thought. I, of course, hit the red button. I appreciate the help!

  4. Yeah, sorry to hear that. I know that's a bummer to say the least.
If you have a recent database backup that's your best bet to restore your forms & entry data. Good luck with it.

The same thing happened to me, but I am trying to import a form on a different site. I have an exported .csv and I am being asked for .xml. How do I fix this? Thanks.

  6. the form ENTRIES are exported as CSV and the forms are exported as XML. Go back to the import/export page and then make sure you've selected forms to export and not entries. The export file will be in XML format and you can then import that as a new form wherever you'd like.
