FAILED (Upload folder could not be created.)

  1. The other thread was closed but I still have this problem even with the right permissions and safe mode off.

This didn't happen until the most recent update

  2. Nothing changed with file uploads in the most recent version. So there were no code changes that would cause this issue. What could cause this issue is a permissions issue. We have seen some web hosts where you set the file permission and it appears to be set, but it isn't actually set for the security account that PHP executes under.

If your site is running PLESK then be sure to follow the steps outlined in this post:

We aren't familiar with PLESK as we don't run it, but it appears to cause all sorts of quirky issues involving file permissions.

  3. I do not know what PLESK is but I use Dreamhost. File Uploads were working before something must have changed somewhere.

I checked the PHP safe mode and it is off

  4. Some hosts (I think Hostgator) recently made changes to mod_security which has been causing problems in many different areas. Maybe your host made a similar change?

Do you have access to php error logs? Maybe an error is being logged about a function not working.

  5. Did Dreamhost move you to a new server?

  6. I'm not sure how to check the error logs but I will look into it. They did move me to a new server but 3 months ago. File uploads were working more recent than that

I just tried resetting the upload path but it didn't work either.

  7. Are you using default values for the uploads directory? Or maybe using a CDN?

  8. The uploads directory is at 755.. I also tried 777. No CDN for the site http://photowalklist.com/submit
