I am a fairly inexperience WP user. Just bought and installed your plugin and when I activated, this message appeared

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /data/24/2/160/37/2649037/user/2907369/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php on line 1474

    Working on a Mac - Lion v. 10.7.2

Your help would be greatly appreciated

  2. Hey Kris,

This is a PHP memory issue. You don't have enough PHP memory available. The solution is to increase your PHP memory by following the instructions here:

    http://www.nerdgrind.com/increase-wordpress-and-php-memory-limit/

You may need to discuss with your web host if you need assistance. I would recommend ideally 128 MB or more.

I am stuck - now I get a different error

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /data/24/2/160/37/2649037/user/2907369/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php on line 1474

  4. Hey Kris, that looks like the same error you were getting above. Were you able to get the host to increase your memory limit?

I tried to fix by just changing the file as suggested. When I got a new error, figured that I did something wrong. Will call host now - that is never a fun thing!

    Thanks.

  6. Yeah, the only other thing you could try would be to try deactivating other plugins. Do you have any active that you are not using or don't need? That might help as well, but see what you can find out.

  7. I'm also getting this same error when when I try to upgrade. I've done everything on the forums that are mentioned, but still get this: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /home/public_html/ff/wp-admin/includes/update.php on line 273

    I can't upgrade this thing.

  8. Hi sphumn,

It sounds like your allowed memory size is currently set to 32mb, we recommend 128mb. If you are having any trouble adjusting your PHP memory limit, I'd recommend contacting your host. They will be able to assist you with any changes to your hosting.

  9. Thanks David. I did try updating the config file, but that didn't seem to do the trick. I will contact our host.

I am sorry - should have posted to thank for help and let everyone know the resolution. Called hosting service and they increased php. I couldn't do it, and they were not very helpful in explaining why/how, but did something on their end that worked. Thanks for assistance.
